Navigating the App

Hoardly uses a collapsible sidebar on the left for primary navigation, and a top header bar for quick access to site-wide links and controls.

The Sidebar

The sidebar is the main way to get around. It can be collapsed to icons-only to save space. Click the toggle button in the top-left corner to expand or collapse it.

When logged out

The sidebar shows an Explore section with links to:

  • Home: the landing page
  • Explore Hoards: browse public hoards
  • About: information about Hoardly
  • Privacy: privacy policy

At the bottom of the sidebar you'll find Log in and Sign Up buttons.

When logged in

Once signed in the sidebar shows:

SectionWhat's there
HoardsYour hoards, with a + button to create a new one
FriendsFriends you've added, with a link to the full friends page
CommunitiesCommunities you belong to, with a discover link
SystemWiki, Maps, About Hoardly, Privacy Info, Guidelines, Contact, and an Information submenu (About Hoards, About Communities, Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, Accessibility, Attribution, Changelog)

At the bottom of the sidebar, your user menu shows your avatar and username. Open it to access:

  • View My Profile
  • Preferences (settings)
  • Friends
  • Achievements
  • What's New
  • Link Another Device
  • Log out

The Top Header Bar

The header bar is visible on every page and contains:

  • Sidebar toggle: collapse/expand the sidebar
  • Nav links: Home, Hoards, Communities (quick access)
  • Notification bell (🔔): when logged in, shows recent notifications
  • Theme, language, and currency controls: on the right side
  • Mobile menu: on smaller screens, a sheet menu replaces the sidebar

Finding Things

There's no single site-wide search. Each area has its own tools: search and filter items inside a hoard, search public hoards on Explore Hoards, find people from the Friends page, and browse communities from Discover Communities. See Finding Things.

Mobile

On mobile devices the sidebar is hidden by default. Tap the ☰ toggle in the top-left of the header to open it as a slide-in panel.
