Notifications

Hoardly notifies you about activity that involves you or the people and hoards you follow.

Notification Categories

In Preferences → Notifications, notifications are grouped into categories you can control:

Category	Covers
Social	Likes, comments, mentions, friend requests and responses, and hoards shared with you
People you follow	New items, posts, and hoards from people you follow
Communities	Join requests and responses, invites, role changes, and moderation actions (post/item removed, kicked, banned)
Achievements	When you unlock an achievement
System	Exports being ready, and other account activity

Some notifications, such as being removed from a community, are always delivered regardless of your settings.

Delivery Channels

Each category can be delivered through one or more channels, toggled independently:

• In-app - shown in the notification bell (🔔) in the header
• Email - sent to your registered address
• Push - browser push notifications, enabled per device
• ntfy - if you've configured an ntfy endpoint

Follower Notification Permissions

Under Preferences → Privacy, you decide what your followers are allowed to be notified about (new items, item edits, new posts, post edits, new hoards). Followers can only turn on notifications for the types you've allowed.

Reading and Clearing Notifications

Open the 🔔 in the header to see recent notifications. Use Mark all to clear the unread count, or dismiss individual notifications with the ✕ beside them. You can also mute the notification sound from the same menu.
