Supporter tiers are perks I grant to an account by hand, as thanks for supporting Hoardly. There's no checkout or subscription, so you can't buy or switch on a tier yourself; email support@hoardly.app if you'd like to support Hoardly.
There are two tiers. Copper lifts the free limits. Silver includes everything in Copper and adds AI assistants.
| Feature | Free | Copper | Silver |
|---|---|---|---|
| Item image upload size | Up to a few megabytes per image | Up to the site-wide maximum per image | Up to the site-wide maximum per image |
| Custom themes | Up to 3 saved themes | Up to 20 saved themes | Up to 20 saved themes |
| Barcode scanning | A few free scans per day | Unlimited scans | Unlimited scans |
| Private, friends-only, and unlisted hoards | Up to 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT and others) | - | - | Connect as many as you like |
| Profile badge | - | Copper badge | Silver badge |
Free accounts have a per-image size limit of a few megabytes. If you try to upload a larger photo, you'll see a message saying the file is too large for a free account. Copper and Silver supporters can upload much bigger images, up to the site-wide maximum file size. See Uploading Items for the full upload flow.
Free accounts can save up to 3 custom themes. Copper and Silver raise that limit to 20. See your Preferences screen to create and manage themes.
Point your camera at a barcode (or type the digits in) from a hoard's page or the add-item form to look an item up and prefill its details. Free accounts get a few scans a day; once you've used them, you'll need to wait until tomorrow. Copper and Silver supporters get unlimited scans. A barcode already in Hoardly's cache (one someone else has scanned recently) doesn't count against your limit either way.
Free accounts can have up to 2 hoards that aren't Public (Private, Friends, or Unlisted). Public hoards are unlimited, and Copper and Silver remove the limit on the rest.
Nothing you already have is ever made public. If you're over the limit, or your account moves back to free, your existing hoards stay exactly as they are. You just can't make another hoard non-public until you're back under the limit. Moving a hoard between Private, Friends, and Unlisted never counts as adding another.
Silver supporters can connect AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code to Hoardly through its MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. You can then ask things like "what's the most valuable set in my LEGO hoard?" or "add these five records to my vinyl hoard" and the assistant looks it up or makes the change for you.
Open Settings, then AI assistants, and copy the server URL (https://api.hoardly.app/mcp).
claude mcp add --transport http hoardly https://api.hoardly.app/mcp and follow the sign-in link.Authorization with the value Bearer followed by your token. When an assistant asks to connect, Hoardly shows you its name, where you'll be sent afterwards and what it's asking for. App names are chosen by the app itself, so check the address it sends you back to. Nothing is ticked to start with, so you choose each permission yourself before allowing it, and I'll email you whenever a new assistant is connected or a token is created.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| See your hoards | Hoard names, descriptions, custom fields, tags and value totals |
| See your items | Search items and read their details, prices and notes |
| Add and change items | Create items and edit their details |
Assistants act as you, with the same access you have. They see hoards you own, plus hoards shared with you where the owner has switched on Use AI Assistants for you (it's off by default). They never see other people's public hoards, and private items stay hidden unless you could see them yourself. They can't delete anything, change privacy settings, upload images, or touch posts, comments, friends or communities.
Anything an assistant reads from Hoardly is sent to the company that runs it (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) and handled under their privacy policy. Only connect assistants you trust with your collection.
Under Settings > AI assistants you can disconnect an app or revoke a token, and it stops working straight away. Changing your password disconnects every assistant at once. If your account moves off Silver, your connections are kept but stop working until it's back on Silver.
Copper and Silver supporters display a coin badge in their tier's colour alongside role badges (Owner, Admin, Moderator) wherever badges appear, such as your profile and next to your username in comments and posts.
