Templates

A template is a preset list of custom fields for a common collection type (Trading Cards, Books, Vinyl Records, and more). Applying one pre-fills your hoard's custom fields so you don't have to build them from scratch.

Using a Template

Templates are offered whenever you create a hoard:

  1. On the "Create or Import a Hoard" screen, choose Create New Hoard, then pick a template instead of (or before) Start From Scratch.
  2. Browse Official Templates (curated by Hoardly) and Community Templates (submitted by other users, approved by moderators). Use the search box to filter either catalogue by name, description, or field name, and sort community templates by Newest or Popular.
  3. Click the Info button on a template's card to open its full details: every field it defines (with type, and select options where relevant), the untruncated description, and, for community templates, who created it and how many people have favourited it. Click the heart to favourite one.
  4. Click a card (or Use This Template in its details) to apply it. If you already have fields filled in, you'll be asked to confirm replacing them.

You can also switch templates later in the same wizard, from the Custom Fields step: click Browse Templates to reopen the same catalogue.

Sharing Your Own Template

If you've built out a useful set of custom fields for a hoard, you can share them with the community. In the hoard's Settings, under Custom Fields, click Share as a Community Template, give it a name, description, and optional image, and submit it for review. Once a moderator approves it, it appears in the Community Templates catalogue for everyone to use.

You can check the status of your submissions (pending, approved, or rejected, with a reason if rejected) under My Templates in your account settings, where you can also delete a submission at any time.
