Communities

Communities bring collectors together around a shared interest.

What is a Community?

A community is a group of users who share items and hoards around a common theme. Each community has:

• A name and description
• A feed of activity and posts from members
• Optional events
• A list of members with roles

Finding Communities

1. In the sidebar, open Communities and click Discover Communities.
2. Browse featured communities or use the search bar to find one by name or topic.

Only public communities appear here. Unlisted communities are reachable only via a direct link.

Joining a Community

Open a community's page and click Join (or Request to Join for approval-required communities). What happens next depends on the community's joining policy:

Joining policy	What happens
Open	You join immediately
Approval Required	Your request goes to the moderators; you're notified when it's accepted or declined
Invite Only	You can only join with an invite (see Joining Communities)
Closed	Not accepting new members

Leaving a Community

On the community's page, open the ⋯ menu and choose Leave.

Community Visibility vs. Joining

These are two separate settings the owner controls:

• Visibility - Public (listed in Discover and search) or Unlisted (link-only).
• Joining policy - Open, Approval Required, Invite Only, or Closed (see the table above).

So a community can be publicly discoverable but still require approval to join, or be unlisted but open to anyone with the link.

Sharing to a Community

Crosspost an item from one of your hoards into a community feed using the crosspost action on the item, then choose the community. You can also write posts directly on the community's Posts tab.
